The Method Seven Patriot MACH combines a stealth, nonmirrored appearance with aviation eyewear engineered for demanding flight conditions. Developed with direct input from the Patriots Jet Team, a civilian formation aerobatic team, the Patriot features a wider wraparound design, flexible black titanium construction, and expansive peripheral vision. Its secure, streamlined fit was designed for high G maneuvers, flight helmets, oxygen masks, and extended flying. Nonpolarized MACH polycarbonate lenses offer 18% visible light transmission (VLT), a versatile medium tint for most daylight flying conditions. Unlike Method Seven's blue mirrored FLT lenses or blue SKY mineral glass, MACH lenses have a discreet black appearance without an exterior flash mirror coating. Developed by M7 Labs in Santa Cruz, California, proprietary notch filtering enhances contrast and helps pilots distinguish clouds, terrain, and flight instruments while maintaining balanced color perception. Anti reflective coatings on both sides of the lenses minimize distracting reflections, while full UV protection shields eyes from ultraviolet radiation. MACH lenses manage glare without polarization, helping pilots maintain visibility of glass cockpit avionics, GPS units, and tablets without the display interference or distracting windscreen patterns associated with polarized sunglasses. The durable, shatter resistant polycarbonate construction also provides lightweight impact resistance for active aviation use. The Patriot's 8 base decentered lens curve offers generous peripheral coverage, helping limit unwanted light entering from the sides. Thin, flexible titanium temples fit comfortably beneath aviation headsets and flight helmets, helping preserve ear seals and noise attenuation while reducing pressure, pinching, and audio leakage. The wraparound frame is also designed for compatibility with aviation oxygen masks. The hand-tooled, serial numbered black titanium frame weighs 21.3 grams, and the lenses are drop ball tested for impact resistance. Frame measurements: 64-17-135 mm.
